THE FBI, KIDS AND BASEBALL

On Sunday, 08/24/2008, representatives from the FBI and Caterpillar Incorporated (CAT) will be at the Peoria Chiefs baseball game at O’Brien Field to participate in the annual CAT/FBI baseball bat giveaway. CAT, the Peoria Chiefs, and the Springfield FBI Office partnered in 1993 to start the baseball bat giveaway as a means of reaching out to the community youth and encourage kids to remain drug free.

All kids attending the baseball game Sunday will receive a free collectable baseball bat which contains a drug free message, together with the CAT logo, Peoria Chiefs logo, and the FBI Seal.

The FBI will also promote child safety at the game with an internet safety booth and free child fingerprinting. Special Agents and Professional Support employees will be on hand to answer questions about FBI employment opportunities.

The stadium opens at 1:00 p.m., with the Peoria Chiefs facing off against the Cedar Rapid Kernels at 2:00 p.m.
