FBI PRESENTS THE DIRECTOR’S COMMUNITY LEADERSHIP AWARD
TO REVEREND JOHNNY SCOTT

 

Reverend Johnny Scott, President NAACP, East St. Louis, Illinois Branch, was presented today with the FBI Director’s 2006 Community Leadership Award.

Since 1990, the FBI has publicly recognized the achievements of individuals and organizations who have made a positive impact within their local communities. The Director’s Community Leadership Award is reserved for those who have made an outstanding contribution towards crime prevention, education, and community awareness.

Reverend Scott is the Pastor of Antioch Baptist Church in Lovejoy, Illinois. He also serves as the Chaplain for the East St. Louis Police Department and the St. Clair County Sheriff’s Department.

In addition to the NAACP, Reverend Scott is active with the Hate Crimes Commission for the State of Illinois. He is also a former Police Commissioner for East St. Louis, and a former member of the Governor’s River Front Task Force, and the Federal Judiciary Commission.

Reverend Scott exemplifies a strong, long standing commitment to civic service in the Metro East community. His experience and knowledge about community resources is instrumental in his success as an advocate for the disadvantaged and elderly. Reverend Scott strives to achieve fairness for all people.

Reverend Scott’s efforts deserve recognition. Therefore, he was presented with the FBI Director’s 2006 Community Leadership Award today by FBI Special Agent in Charge, Weysan Dun, Springfield Division.
