FBI Special Agent in Charge, Weysan Dun, Springfield Division, announced that Warren C. Harbison was arrested on 04/13/2007 in Texas on federal charges for transporting a minor with intent to engage in criminal sexual activity.

A federal criminal complaint was filed on 04/13/2007 in the United States District Court, Southern District of Illinois, charging Harbison with illegally transporting a 13 year old child outside the State of Illinois. The criminal complaint alleges that Harbison transported the child to Missouri and to Texas, for the purpose of engaging in criminal sexual activity. The offense carries a penalty of up to life in prison.

The Potter County, Texas Sheriff's Department located Harbison on 04/09/2007 near Amarillo, Texas and safely recovered the child.

The arrest is the result of an investigation by the Edwardsville Police Department, Madison County Sheriff's Department, Amarillo, Texas Police Department, the Potter County Sheriff's Department, and the FBI.

Members of the public are reminded that a criminal complaint is only an accusation and that all defendants are presumed to be innocent unless proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt.
