FBI SPRINGFIELD

Terry Sprague, Regional Security Officer, National City Bank, was presented today with the FBI Director's 2005 Community Leadership Award. The Director's Community Leadership Award is reserved for those individuals who have made an outstanding contribution within the community towards crime prevention and community awareness.

Sprague has been with National City Bank for 36 years and is responsible for National City security for Central and Southern Illinois.

Sprague exemplifies a strong, long standing commitment to the Illinois banking community, working to inform financial institutions and the public about crime prevention. Sprague's experience and knowledge about financial crimes has proven invaluable to the communities that he serves.

In 1997, Sprague was instrumental in initiating the Central Illinois Fraud Group (CIFG). The CIFG consists of representatives from several Central Illinois financial institutions who meet on a regular basis to share information and training opportunities. Sprague has expanded these crime prevention efforts by assisting other communities in setting up Bank Fraud Working Groups in Bloomington, Peoria, Champaign, Decatur, and Rock Island.

Terry Sprague's efforts deserve recognition. Therefore, Mr. Sprague was presented with the FBI Director's 2005 Community Leadership Award today by FBI Assistant Special Agent in Charge, Janice Fields, Springfield Division.
