FBI Special Agent in Charge, Weysan Dun, Springfield Division, announced that Robert R. Davis and Peggy Sue Loyd were arrested on 04/14/2006, at approximately 7:30 a.m. for bank robbery. Davis, age 22, from Sidney, Illinois, and Loyd, age 24, also from Sidney, Illinois, were arrested in Champaign, Illinois, during a traffic stop by the Illinois State Police Tactical Response Team. State arrest warrants were obtained through the Christian County State's Attorney's Office. Davis and Loyd were transported to and booked into the Christian County Jail in Taylorville, Illinois. The arrest warrants allege that Davis and Loyd robbed the First National Bank of Mount, Auburn, Illinois, on 04/12/2006. The investigation was conducted by the Illinois State Police, the Christian County Sheriff's Office and the Federal Bureau of Investigation. Members of the public are reminded that all defendants are presumed to be innocent unless proven guilty beyond a reasonable doubt.
