Madison, Illinois Man Sentenced for Distribution of Crack Cocaine

A. Courtney Cox, United States Attorney for the Southern District of Illinois, announced today that on May 15, 2009, JERMAINE J. LOVETT, age 26, of Madison, Illinois, was sentenced in United States District Court in East St. Louis, Illinois. LOVETT was sentenced to 188 months imprisonment, was fined $900, and was placed on eight years supervised release.

LOVETT had previously pleaded guilty to Distribution of Crack Cocaine on January 15, 2009. LOVETT’s two co-defendants have also previously pleaded guilty and are awaiting sentencing.

The investigation in this case was conducted by the Federal Bureau of Investigation and the Drug Enforcement Administration, Fairview Heights divisions.

The case was prosecuted by Assistant United States Attorney Deirdre A. Durborow.
