CARLYLE WOMAN PLEADS GUILTY TO CONSPIRACY
TO COMMIT BANKRUPTCY FRAUD
A. Courtney Cox, United States Attorney for the Southern District of Illinois, announced
today that on November 18, 2008, MARGARET DIEKEMPER, 64, of Carlyle, Illinois, entered a plea
of guilty in East St. Louis, Illinois, to one count of Conspiracy to Commit Bankruptcy Fraud.
Count One, Conspiracy to Commit Bankruptcy Fraud, carries a sentence of not more than five years in prison, a $250,000 fine, or both, and not more than three years of supervised release.
A sentencing date is set for February 9, 2009 at 2:30 pm., in United States District Court in
East St. Louis, Illinois.
Information for the indictment was obtained in an investigation conducted by the Federal Bureau of Investigation and the United States Postal Inspection Service. The case is being handled by Assistant United States Attorney Jennifer Hudson and Norm Smith. |
