A. Courtney Cox, United States Attorney for the Southern District of Illinois, announced today that on March 10, 2008, WARREN D. HARBISON, age 23, of Edwardsville, Illinois, was sentenced in the United States District Court in East St. Louis, Illinois. HARBISON was sentenced to 235 months’ imprisonment, to be followed by 10 years’ supervised release. HARBISON was also ordered to pay $15,045.75 in restitution to the victim’s family. HARBISON had been previously convicted by a jury on November 28, 2007 on the sole count of the superseding indictment, which charged him with Transporting a Minor in Interstate Commerce with the Intent to Engage in Unlawful Sexual Activity. The offense took place between April 4 and April 9, 2007 in Madison County, Illinois, St. Louis County, Missouri, and Potter County, Texas. The investigation in this case was conducted by the Edwardsville Police Department, the Taylor Springs Police Department, the Madison County Sheriff’s Department, the St. Louis County Police Department, the Amarillo, Texas Police Department, the Potter County, Texas Sheriff’s Department, and the Federal Bureau of Investigation.
