WEST FRANKFORT WOMAN SENTENCED IN THEFT CASE

Randy G. Massey, Acting United States Attorney for the Southern District of Illinois, announced today that on March 26, 2007, SUSAN JILL BLADES, age 43, of West Frankfort, Illinois, was sentenced in United States District Court in East St. Louis, Illinois. BLADES was sentenced to 4 years probation and ordered to pay $10,000 in restitution to the City of West Frankfort, Illinois.

BLADES had previously pleaded guilty to Theft related to Programs Receiving Federal Funds.

BLADES was employed by the West Frankfort Water Department at the time she committed this offense.

The evidence for this prosecution was obtained in an investigation conducted by the Federal Bureau of Investigation.

The case was prosecuted by Assistant United States Attorney George A. Norwood.
